Presentation of INSPIRE’s Territorial Typology at the XLIX International Conference on Regional Science

On 16 October, the University of Barcelona presented the INSPIRE project’s “Territorial Typology on Social Wellbeing, Resilience and Exclusion” during the XLIX International Conference on Regional Science, held in Pamplona, Spain.

The presentation introduced a new territorial typology of rural regions in the European Union, developed within the INSPIRE project. By integrating social, economic, environmental, and civic indicators, the framework captures patterns of rural wellbeing and exclusion, supporting the design of place-sensitive and evidence-based policies.

The session generated significant interest among participants and strengthened the visibility of INSPIRE’s research within the academic and policy communities. It also offered a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and gather feedback from scholars working on regional development, inequality, and social inclusion.
