INSPIRE results are presented in the LAUREL webinar
“Ensuring Equitable Integrated Long-Term Care (I-LTC) Services for Rural and Vulnerable Communities”

On the 28th of April 2026, White Research presented the INSPIRE regional typology and the Atlas in the session “Innovation and service models addressing inequalities”, during a webinar of the LAUREL project called “Ensuring Equitable Integrated Long-Term Care (I-LTC) Services for Rural and Vulnerable Communities”. The invitation to the webinar was facilitated by Social Economy Europe, which participates in the LAUREL consortium.

The webinar explored how integrated long-term care (I-LTC) services can remain accessible and equitable for people living in rural areas or in vulnerable situations, where barriers such as geographical distance, workforce shortages, limited digital infrastructure and social vulnerability can restrict access to care.

In the session “Innovation and service models addressing inequalities”, the Project Coordinator Thomas Bakratsas shared a brief overview of the project and presented the key results generated during the first half of the grant duration: the territorial typology and the Atlas. The presentation aimed at disseminating the value proposition of these two core results to healthcare practitioners and regional policy makers from rural areas, who need access to resource-efficient, smart and place-sensitive solutions. The presentation showcased how end-users can explore and access existing healthcare solutions from rural regions that share similar characteristics and challenges with their own area to replicate, adapt, and implement good, successful practices. A short demo session concluded the presentation, in which the Coordinator showed in real-time how the end-users can access both the typology and the Atlas, apply filtering options and identify rural health and care services.

The overall discussion contributed to the Laurel project’s policy work, ensuring that the project’s recommendations reflect the realities and needs of underserved territories and populations. Around 45 people participated in the webinar.
