Pilot Warm-up Event at Parczew, Poland, during local Festival

On 28 September 2025, the Polish Pilot Leader European Rural Development Network (ERDN) deployed its first warm-up event, presenting INSPIRE at the annual local festival in Parczew. The event attracted many participants, with a majority of attendees being women, including single mothers and unemployed residents, key groups of interest for the project.

The Polish INSPIRE pilot shared a central booth with the Parczew County Labour Office, creating a strong local presence and direct engagement with citizens. The booth featured the “Smart Village Wheel of Fortune”, a knowledge quiz about modern rural services and digital work opportunities, a children’s play zone (supporting single mothers), and tastings of local baked goods provided by local women’s groups. These interactive elements made the stand one of the most visited areas of the festival.

The team had the opportunity to distribute leaflets to promote the ongoing photo contest “The Village Through a Woman’s Eyes”, an initiative that generated interest on local social media.

The event raised awareness of the project but also built new local relationships and generated enthusiasm for more structured community co-creation activities in the local upcoming Smart Village Lab. Women who interacted with the local team showed interest in joining the upcoming workshop-based Smart Village Lab meetings. The event also resulted in discussions and a preliminary agreement with a local Rural Women’s Circle (Koło Gospodyń Wiejskich) to collaborate further in future INSPIRE activities, opening the door to deeper community outreach in the coming months.
